First state Census data released ... Hispanic growth impressive
The U.S. Census today released the following state data for the 2010 Census today:
New Jersey
- Hispanic population 1,555,144, which is a 39.2% increase from 2000
- Non-Hispanic population had a negative growth rate of -0.8%
Virginia
- Hispanic population 63,1825, which is a 91.7% increase from 2000
- Non-Hispanic population grew 9.3%
Louisiana
- Hispanic population 19,2560, which is a 78.7% increase from 2000
- Non-Hispanic population had a negative growth rate of -0.5%
Mississippi
- Hispanic population 81,481, which is a 105.9% increase from 2000
- Non-Hispanic population had a growth rate of 2.9%
