Maryland 5th state to receive 2010 Census data
The U.S. Census today released the state data for Maryland. The state's population grew by 477, 066, and 242, 716 (or about 50.8%) of that growth came from Hispanics

- Hispanic population 470,632, which is an 106.5% increase from 2000
- Hispanics now 8.2% of population compared to 4.3% in 2000
- Non-Hispanic population had a growth rate of 4.6%
