The U.S. Census has released data for Arkansas, Indiana, Iowa and Vermont, bringing to 9 the number of states that have now received their state-specific data.
Arkansas
-- The Hispanic population is 186,050, up 114% from 2000 when it was 86,866
-- Non-Hispanic population grew 5.5%
-- The state's population grew by 242,518, and 99,184 (or 40.8%) of that growth came from Hispanics
Indiana
-- The Hispanic population is 389,707, up 81.7% from 2000
-- Non-Hispanic population grew 3.9%
-- The state's population grew by 403,317, and 175,171 (or 43.4%) of that growth came from Hispanics
Iowa
-- The Hispanic population is 151,544, up 83.7% from 2000
-- Non-Hispanic population grew 1.8%
-- The state's population grew by 120,031, and 69,071 (or 57.5%) of that growth came from Hispanics
Vermont
-- The Hispanic population is 9,208, up 67.3% from 2000
-- Non-Hispanic population grew 2.2%
-- The state's population grew by 16,914, and 3,704 (or 21.8%) of that growth came from Hispanics
