Latinos saving less, spending more
While not the best of news for banks during this crisis, for retailers a new U.S. Federal Reserve report, "Currents and Undercurrents: Changes in the Distribution of Wealth, show that Latinos continue to not save as much as other demos, but spending is still high.
Notably, an article in Diversity, Inc., reports that among the top 10 percent of Latino earners in 2003, nearly 22 percent spent more than their income in the previous year, according to the study.
Latinos continue to over-index on consumables. Good article as it also talks about the cultural perspective of why we shop for certain categories and brands.
