Estas listo for some football?
The NFL is getting ready to launch its Hispanic market Superbowl marketing efforts in an effort to continue to tap into this rapidly-growing audience segment. The league has made substantial efforts to reach Hispanics since 2006 when it launched its NFLlatino.com website. In 2007, I wrote about how NFL football games helped NBC claim four of the top five spots in the Hispanic TV ratings.
In 2009, regular-season game telecasts averaged 1.1 million Hispanic viewers, with 5 games averaging more than 2 million.
Obviously the pending World Cup will dwarf these numbers, but clearly the NFL (as well as the recent NBA efforts and the long-running MLB efforts) has seen the the power of sports-marketing in the Hispanic market.
